About the role
The Role
Our people are at the heart of GAP's success, and many of our colleagues have built long and rewarding careers with us. As we continue to grow, we're investing even further in our people by creating a brand-new Employee Experience & Engagement Specialist role.
You'll help shape the moments that matter most to our colleagues, from onboarding and recognition through to engagement, wellbeing and long-term career development.
Based at our Glasgow Head Office, you'll build on our people-first culture across our UK-wide depot network, leading initiatives that keep colleagues engaged, help them grow their careers with us and showcase GAP as an employer of choice. Working closely with HR, Talent Acquisition and Marketing, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on how colleagues experience life at GAP.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in employee engagement, HR, internal communications, employer branding or talent management who enjoys building relationships, driving positive change and creating programmes that make a difference.
You will have a CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards one) and experience in a multi-site or operational environment would be a bonus. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to locations across the UK is required.
About You
What You'll Do
• Design and deliver employee engagement, wellbeing and recognition initiatives that bring our GAP CODE values to life
• Enhance the onboarding experience to help new starters feel welcomed, supported and set up for success
• Run colleague surveys and listening activity, using feedback, stay and exit conversations and people data to understand what keeps our people with us and where we can do even better
• Partner with managers across our depot network to support great engagement and career conversations, making sure every colleague, from head office to frontline teams, feels part of the GAP community
• Champion our community partnerships, volunteering and charity activity, and support colleague networks such as Women in Construction
• Work with our Early Careers Advisor to help apprentices and graduates build long-term careers at GAP
• Work alongside Marketing and Talent Acquisition to showcase GAP as an employer of choice through authentic employer brand content
What We're Looking For
• Experience in employee engagement, HR, talent acquisition, employer branding or a related people-focused role
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• Experience delivering projects, events or programmes in a fast-paced environment
• An analytical mindset with the ability to turn insight into action
• Creativity, enthusiasm and a passion for improving the employee experience
