We're looking for a manager to join our dynamic Welfare division, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Hire Desk and Transport operation. You'll lead a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers, ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations while helping to drive revenue growth and operational excellence.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing people leadership, customer relationships, and commercial performance. If you're looking for a role where you can make a real impact while developing your career with an industry leader, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of the Hire Desk and Transport function
• Motivating, coaching, and developing a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers
• Driving revenue growth through proactive promotion of consumables, accessories, and additional hire opportunities
• Monitoring transport performance to ensure deliveries and collections are completed on time
• Ensuring the accurate processing of hires, off-hires, exchanges, and transport activities
• Resolving customer queries, hire issues, and administrative discrepancies efficiently
• Working closely with operational teams to maximise equipment availability

About You

What You'll Bring

The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership skills with commercial awareness and operational expertise, including:

• Ideally you will have experience managing a hire desk, transport operation, or similar customer-facing team
• Strong people management and coaching skills with the ability to develop and motivate others
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
• Outstanding communication skills with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
• A good understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities within an operational environment
• Experience within the plant hire industry would be advantageous, although candidates from similar operational backgrounds will also be considered
